Human Design maps your birth data onto a bodygraph: nine centres, sixty-four gates, thirty-six channels. Where the channels connect, a centre becomes defined, consistent, reliable energy you can count on. Where they don't, the centre is open, where you take in and amplify other people, and where conditioning tends to accumulate.
Your chart is calculated twice
This is what makes Human Design unlike astrology. Every chart uses two moments: your Personality (the conscious side, calculated at birth) and your Design (the unconscious, body-level side, calculated roughly 88 days earlier, at the instant the Sun was exactly 88° of arc behind its birth position). Both sets of activations are laid on the same bodygraph. This calculator finds that Design moment by searching the ephemeris directly rather than approximating it.
The four things worth knowing first
Type and Strategy
Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, Manifestor, or Reflector. Type comes from which centres are defined and how they connect to the Throat. It is not a personality label. It is a description of how your energy is built to engage.
Authority
Your body's decision-making mechanism, taken in a fixed order: Emotional, Sacral, Splenic, Ego, Self-Projected, or Mental. Emotional authority means no truth in the now, so you are meant to sleep on things. Most people are taught to decide with the mind, which is the one authority almost nobody actually has.
Profile
Two numbers from the lines of your Personality and Design Suns: 1/3, 6/2, 4/1 and so on. It describes the role you're here to play and how you learn.
Incarnation Cross
The four gates of your Sun and Earth in both columns. There are 192 named crosses; this calculator names all of them rather than showing bare gate numbers.
Is this chart accurate?
The astronomy comes from the Swiss Ephemeris. The mapping tables. The gate wheel, the 36 channels, the centre memberships, the cross names, are where Human Design software usually goes wrong, so this engine is tested against seven published celebrity charts spanning every Type, plus a property-based suite that checks the rules hold across a thousand randomly generated charts. It uses the standard thirteen activation points; no asteroids.
You need your birth time
Human Design is time-sensitive. The Moon moves through a gate in hours, and your Profile and Authority can change with a small shift in birth time. An estimated time gives you an estimated chart. If your time is uncertain, treat the result as provisional until you can confirm it.
